Share Talkin’ Trash Program
Talkin’ Trash provides employment opportunities for individuals who are experiencing housing instability or transitioning from living outdoors, while helping to beautify Vancouver’s public spaces.
The crew works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., focusing on litter control and responding to illegal dumping in neighborhoods, city parks and other high-need areas.
- Provide meaningful employment and job training for individuals with lived experience of homelessness.
- Support housing search assistance, employment placement and case management for crew members.
- Improve the cleanliness and safety of Vancouver’s public spaces through litter control and illegal dumping response.
Crew members may encounter individuals living outdoors during their routes but they do not respond to outdoor encampments. They assist individual living outside by removing disposable items or offering bag services, which provide resources for individuals to gather and manage their own disposables.
